Watchmen, the end (of cinema) is nigh

Who watches the Watchmen? I did, last Saturday

As strange as it might look like, this post is not actually about the movie but, in the strange case you actually want to know what I think about it, it could have been worse, but also somewhat better. There were many details that were not properly portrayed from the graphic novel to the screen, but the result is not half bad in any case. And yes, I prefer the movie’s ending better than the graphic novel’s one, despite the fact that decision affected a lot of details during the rest of the movie.

At any case, the reason I made this post is actually quite different from Watchmen itself…

javaScript ain’t dead

Was it ever dead anyways?

Depite the fact that javaScript is somewhat painful to develop, unless you install half a dozen complements on your browser for debugging it, its use surely has increased exponentially with the so-called web 2.0.

Even more surprising than that is the fact that sometimes the blogosphere is actually useful for something rather than ranting away (I know, I am also guilty of that sin… am I free of any of them anyways?). For those of you, mostly myself, that are involved in using javaScript, like me, you will probably find interesting these 40 useful javaScript libraries I found posted around some place named Smashing Magazine, place I never heard of but seems that I will have to visit again just in case.

Where the hell is the AMD Phenom II 940 AM3?

Someone actually knows?

Because I was waiting to update my home system for a while and I find it terribly annoying to witness that AMD has launched a handful of AM3 processors that are not even close to their top line on the AM2+ socket…

Hell, I am only asking for a updated version of the 940 Deneb series which should not be that hard at all to replicate on AM3… and that without counting the promised 955 series.

PS: Yes, I know this post ain’t precissely mind-blowing… but heck, it annoys me nevertheless after being an AMD/ATi customer for many years now

The 15 things I did not really cared for when I started this blog

A few days ago I had the chance to read a blog article by Neil Patel giving tips to starting bloggers. The first question sprouts almost immediately… who is Neil Patel? Well, despite what he writes about himself on his about page, I have never heard about the guy before. Either he is not as influential as the Wall Street Journal claims or I am a lost cause despite being, in theory, working as a web specialist.

While I found it to be a rather interesting read, and I am pretty sure it will be of use to many, I must admit I am not sticking to the essential points in most of the post. In fact, when I finally decided to start a blog, on the widest spectrum of the invented word, I actually cared for none of them, which I guess that makes sort of funny to comment them on my second post (well, first post since a welcome post should never count anyways).

So this is WordPress, huh?

Oh well, I guess that I avoided this for too long. I must be one of the last IT guys without some sort of blog, twitter, net profile, etc…

Well, if someone else other than me is reading this, which would be absolutely surprising mind you, feel yourself at home. Let me apologize for how poorly organized is the place yet but I am finishing this at well past my bedtime and this week (probably the next ones as well) shall be quite busy after all.

What am I doing starting a blog on this complicated time of my life then? Now that is a damned wonderful question I would like to have an answer for…
